Slice & Dice: Week 4

Tuesday has got to be the most anticlimactic day of the week

Wednesdays are for going to the bank, coming home to gentrified Mac n Cheese for dinner and checking the ads for who has Fage on sale

Thursdays are the first beacon of the weekend, for steak and Cubans at El Gaucho, and for wearing silk-lined blazers

Fridays are for reeking of Chanel and lunching on stuff like Brie Bartlette baguettes and miniature fancy cakes, then going to work- getting off early, and strutting around rooftop hotel lounge/restaurant/bars playing the role of an imported socialite

Saturdays are for the shoe section at Nordstrom, donning aforementioned shoes, and having bites of tapas then PG’ing with Knob Creek sours

Sundays are for brunches, bumming, and wearing chunky knits

Mondays are for whining…or goal-setting, depending on your life philosophy

And Tuesdays?

Nope, not two-dollar Taco Tuesdays. Le gross. Tuesdays are for post-work artisan cheese plates, business speak, and aquavit…

…oh and Slice & Dice:

Salad with mixed greens, heirloom tomatoes, parsley, New Seasons Market Mediterranean chicken stew, balsamic cippolini onions, Mama's lil red peppers, parmigiano reggiano, whole seeded bread
Leftover Samosa Chaat with a turkey burger I made from ground turkey, tomato paste, mustard, cumin, black pepper, garam masala, tandoori seasoning, cilantro, and channa masala (Trader Joe's), cucumbers, yoghurt
Fried eggs over balsamic marinated mushrooms & artichokes with salad & Dave's Killer bread
Half a lemon braised chicken, tabouli, Arabic bread, baba ghanouj, & garlic sauce--from Barbur World Foods
Channa Turkey burger with pita, channa masala, tomatoes & greens, self-made raita
Nora's Mac & Cheese; ask her for the recipe...bechamel w/ lots of cumin gouda & other cheeses
Eaten with ground spiced turkey and a side salad
Fattoush: Romaine, tomatoes, Persian cucumbers, parsley, sumac, olive oil, lemon juice
Shish Tawouk, Fattoush, babaghanouj, hummus, garlic sauce, Arabic bread

What is your Tuesday routine?

What is your favourite weekday (Friday doesn’t count!)

  1. Delicious looking eats as usual Sara! I love how smorgasboard-y your plates always look, it makes me want to just dig in! Favourite day of the week, pancake sundays without a doubt. It’s the one day a week I let myself sleep in guilt-free, then have pancakes and laze around till the afternoon watching trashy tv (read: Kardashians and top model).

  2. yum Fattoush I’ve only had this twice and I loved it πŸ™‚
lol I love that each day of the week for you has something going on! My fave day of the week is Friday-no classes/sometimes my rest day/catch up with friends in the evening πŸ™‚

  3. I agree, Tuesdays are goofy. Other than Friday, I like Mondays and Thursdays the best. πŸ™‚ Yummy eats!

      1. Heyyy! Just wanted to give you a heads-up, I tried commenting on your cauliflower post and subscribing, but for some reason I couldn’t do either. When I tried subscribing to you it said that it wasn’t a valid RSS feed or somethingrather?

  4. Just when I start to think we’re 100% alike, you go and hate on TUesdays! Haha I actually love Tuesdays- probably because I fast on Mondays so being able to wake up and eat more than just fruit & nuts makes me very happy! I love your eats, especially the Arabic spread and Mac & Cheese- Kraft who? My favorite day is Sunday: I switch off my alarm, shut my curtains the night before (I always leave them open to wake up to natural light), lounge in my pjs till whenever, go out for brunch…or not: I basically leave the day open and just play it by ear: so much nicer than the standard routine of every other day of the week!

  5. I think that Thursday is my favorite day of the week…it’s close to Friday and things are fairly calm work-wise.

I have no particular schedule for Tuesdays…I just try to get through them. Maya gets out of school early on Tuesdays…enough said.

  6. I actually really don’t mind Mondays! They usually start off my week okay. That mac and cheese looks amazinggggg.

  7. Next tuesday, do Taco Tuesday @ Por Que No!!!! the calamari tacos are the best, and their yummy sangrias are like $5. Nora’s cumin mac looks pretty good!

    1. You are too kind…turkey burgers are pretty easy to do…well they must be considering how lazy and limited my cooking skills actually are πŸ˜‰
